Abstract

결 론
1987년 1월부터 1990년 10월까지 단국대학교 치과대학 부속 치과병원 소아치과에 내원한
환자중 통상의 방법으로 행동조절에 실패한 환자를 대상으로 부모의 동의하에 chloral
hydrate를 이용한 직장투여 진정요법을 시행한 결과 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다.
1. 성공율은 40.7%였다.
2. 75㎎/㎏을 투여한 경우가 50㎎/㎏을 투여한 경우보다 치료효과 점수에 있어서 우수한
것으로 나타났으나, 통계학적으로 유의한 차이를 보이지는 않았다.
3. 나이가 많을수록 치료효과가 우수하게 나타났으나, 통계학적으로 유의한 차이를 보이지
않았다.
4. 50㎎/㎏을 투여한 경우 여아가 남아보다 우수한 효과를 나타내었지만, 통계학적으로 유
의한 차이를 보이지는 않았다.
5. Frankl 분류의 definitely negrative인 경우보다 negrative인 경우에서 우수한 효과를 보
이는 것으로 나타났지만, 통계학적으로 유의한 차는 없었다.
6. 부작용으로는 구토와 구강 건조증이 지적되었으나 그 외에 다른 심각한 부작용은 발생
하지 않았다.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate overall clinical effect of conscious sedation
performed by chloral hydrate adminstered through rectum. Patients with uncontrollable
behavior were treated under sedation and treatment effect was evaluated using 5 rating
scales. modified by Lunt and recorded by operator subjectively.
Very effective and effective cases were 35 out of 86 cases revealing 40.7% of success
rate. Treatment effect of high dosage groups(75㎎/㎏) was shown to be superior to low
dosage groups(㎎/㎏), but with no statistically significant difference between them.
Vital signs were recorded to be relatively stable throughout procedure and no
remarkable side effect was checked except a few cases of mild vomitting and dry
mouth.
